When our oldest son was a teenager, we had to take him to the doctor all the time because of a few medical problems that he suffered from. When we had a traditional plan, we would get a bill after every visit, and the costs were adding up to more than what we could afford. My wife was eligible to carry our family on her HMO medical insurance, and we gladly switched to that plan. We were able to take our son to see the doctor when he needed to go, and our costs became much more manageable. This truly was the best option for our family.
