Life does not end with divorce. At least not for me. My children were grown and with the divorce I no longer had a husband to raise. I figured if I was going to be taking care of kids I just as well get some fun out of it. OK, so some people would say that I was acting like the cougars but I really do not mind what they say. Usually I do not pay much attention to my bills. I get them and I pay them and do not really think twice about it. I figure that they are just a necessary evil, especially some of my older bills. But I just saw a good student loan consolidation interest rate that made me look twice. I had a vague idea of what my current rate was and was fine with it. But this rate was lower and it would mean one monthly payment instead of a whole bunch of them to pay. I could even pay of my loans faster.
My wife and I just moved into a new apartment last week. We were living with my parents before that, so having a place of our own really does feel great. We stil need a number of essential items, but slowly we’re getting there. Both my wife and I have computers so we don’t really mind the fact that we don’t have a TV in the apartment. I am always so busy with all of my obligations. I find time for work and for my family; but the one thing I have not made time for is my own social life. When my sister Pam decided to downsize her life and move into a condo, she had to do a lot of cleaning up and throwing out. I swore I would not get caught up in surfing the Net for hours, like some of my friends. I did not, either. I have been trying to figure out what I am going to give my mom for Mother’s Day. My kids are the only grandchildren that she has so she is always going gaga for them. I have decided to put together a photo blanket for her with pictures of her and the kids posted all on it. I think that I will start it off as a quilt and go to a specialty store to get the pictures on material so they can be sewn into the blanket. I think that it will be a great gift and I know that she will love it.
